You may pay your Real Estate Taxes, Excise Taxes, and Personal Property Taxes, on-line through a secure tax payment service of UniBank. When you follow the link to the Townsend/UnipayGold below to pay your taxes a new browser window will open. It is important to use the correct Fiscal year when making your payment. The year shown on your bill is the Fiscal year. The actual calendar year and the fiscal years are not necessarily the same.
Note:
- Online payments are restricted to Current Tax Invoice balances.
Current Invoices which are not paid on time are taken off line five days after the due date, and will generate an INVALID response
if you try to pay them online.
- Past due Real Estate, Personal Property, or 1st Demand Excise Tax payments can be made by mail or in person directly to the Tax
Collector's office.
- Past due *EXCISE WARRANTS, see below.
There are two ways you can pay your CURRENT Tax bill on-line
1. Direct and secure transfer from your checking account. The amount you wish to pay is directly transferred from your checking account to the Town's bank account, and you are credited as making the payment. You must authorize each transaction. It is not automatic - you must authorize each payment each time you pay. You will be given instructions when you select this option. There is a $0.25 UniBank charge for this service (NOTE: Do not use your Deposit Slip to verify your bank routing number, because it may contain your Bank's internal routing numbers that are not part of the actual ABA Routing Number. If you are not sure of your routing number, please check with your Bank to verify the correct number).
2. Payment via credit card. (Discover or MasterCard accepted) This method of payment uses a secure web site, and the payment is charged to your credit or debit card. (Note: there is a UniBank fee for using a credit card, you will verify the amount of the fee prior to authorizing any payments - see below schedule of fees).
Important: When you enter your Bill Number DO NOT include any of the letters (RE, PP, MV, etc.) that follow the bill number. Use only the numeric portion. Example: If your bill number is 5678 RE, use 5678 as your bill number.
The Tax Collector's office is utilizing the services of Kelley and Ryan Associates, Inc. as our Deputy Collector. For the convenience of our Townsend residents, we now accept payment for excise tax warrants at the Tax Collector's office at Town Hall, or you may pay Kelly and Ryan online, or at any of their offices, located in Lowell, Beverly, Lawrence, Brockton, Taunton, Springfield or Hopedale.
