Tennessee Gas Pipeline Northeast Energy Direct (NED) Project
*IMPORTANT UPDATE*: The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has not yet scheduled the last public scoping meeting for the Northeast Energy Direct project, which will be in Cheshire County, NH. Therefore, the scoping comment period for the project has been extended from August 31st to a date to be determined beyond the date of the Cheshire County public meeting(s). Also, the public will be informed at least two weeks in advance of the date of the public meeting.
The Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Board Public Comment hearing was held on August 6, 2015, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Public Scoping Meeting was held on August 12, 2015, both at Lunenburg High School.
On December 8, 2014 Kinder Morgan altered the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Northeast Energy Direct (NED) Project filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to change the preferred route of the natural gas pipeline. The alternative path would follow existing rights-of-way along the utility lines in Southern New Hampshire. There is still a lateral pipeline planned to pass through Townsend that would impact 65 landholders.
