BABYSITTING CLASS-Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 1-5 P.M. in library complex-meeting hall B. Instructor-Debbie LaFlamme. Certificate will be given. $30. Grade five and up. Space is limited. Confirm slot by MARCH 29, 2011.

CPR CLASS -Four hours/two evening class (April 19 and April 26, 2011) from 7-9 P.M. in library complex-meeting hall B. Instructor-Tom Whittier. $35. Space is limited.

ARCHERY CLASS—Age 12 and up. Townsend Rod and Gun on Thursdays- April ,7-14-21-28, May 5. 6-7:30 P.M. Five week session-$90.

SPRING TENNIS-Spaulding Memorial School, May 16, 23 June 6, 13, 2011. Right after school until 4:30 P.M. $20. Raquets and balls provided. Instructor-Deborahanne Mayer

DANCES-Grades 6, 7 and 8- Hawthorne Brook Middle School students. The following are the scheduled dances; 4/1,5/6. As usual, I need 10 CORI cleared chaperones for each dance. Please consider. Without your help, I can’t run these dances.

EARTH DAY-April 30, 2011-Going Organic Theme. Magician Steve Rudolph at 1:00 P.M. Slot space-$20 for profit, O for nonprofit groups.-E-mail to join in the plans and secure space! Remaining meetings are March 15, April 12 and 26th. in the Town Hall, room 2, 7:00 P.M.

SUMMER REC.-Monday, June 27-Friday,Aug.5th (weekdays), 9 - 12 noon or 9 - 2 P.M.
-Prices-Six weeks 9-2:$250, 9-12:$175, weekly 9x12 or 9x2-$55.,daily-$12. No rec on July 4th.
-Counselor in Training(CIT)- 2 week program, 9-noon, at Hawthorne Brook
(July 5-8 + July 11-15) $50. Replaces volunteers- for age 14 and up, or has completed 8th grade (20 person limit).
-CIT II program-cost-$50, must have completed CIT program and complete an interview. Only 6 will be chosen to participate. Apply by 4/30/10.
-SUMMER TENNIS- Ashby Town Courts,Aug.8-12,ages7-12 (1:30-2:30 P.M),ages 12 + up-(2:30-3:30 P.M.),$70.
-SUMMER NIGHT THEATER-“Check Please”- Show is night of August 12, 2011 in the town hall. Evening rehearsals. Watch for try out dates. Grades 5 and above. Free to join! Sponsored by Townsend Cultural.
-SUMMER DAY MUSICAL THEATER-“King Artie and the Knights of the Rad Table”-Try outs at Hawthorne Brook in May. Grades 5 and above. $75. Show August 4, 2011 during day.

ABC FOLLOW ME-Preschool-ABC Follow Me is a children’s playtime and story time combined with music and movement program. Being offered is a series of parent/child programs devoted to encouraging families to engage in fun, physical activities together. Children will have the opportunity to play, run, jump, throw, catch, and socialize in a playgroup environment. Each week a different theme will be introduced and the story and activities will go along with each theme. Beth Anne McManus will lead the weekly sessions. Sessions will be held in the Town Hall, Main St., on Thursdays- May 5,12,19,26, June 2,9 from 10-10:45 A.M. for walkers-age 4. Cost is $36.for the six week session. Daily rate is $8/class per child. SPRING TENNIS-Instructors needed-pay is $10/hr. Lessons will be held at each school gym in the spring. Info-town site.

Instructors needed to run day/evening exercise classes. Pay is $10/hr.

Join TRAC (Townsend Recreation Activity Council)- masscanfields@verizon.net if you want to help raise funds to repair the tennis courts at Hawthorne Brook, create after school tennis programs and explore the possibility of building a skateboard park!
