Welcome

Special Town Meeting: The Special Town Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 7PM in the Great Hall at Town Hall, 272 Main Street.   Last day to register to vote is November 3, 2014. You may register to vote at the Town Clerk's office from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and at the Townsend Police Department from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Tax Bill Information: The Town of Townsend is employing a lock box service for real estate, personal property, and motor vehicle excise tax payments. Payments will be sent to a Century Bank processing center in Reading, MA. Payments are deposited the day they are received at the processing center. This will expedite the task of opening and sorting mail, scanning, and ensuring payment totals match. The Collector's Office will still do the actual posting of payments to your account and is still the contact for payment questions. Payments can still be made in person at the Collector's Office in Town Hall. Please return unused payment enelopes to the Collector's Office and we will reuse them.
