Board of Selectmen  Mission Statement

Townsend is a special community in many ways but particularly because of its commitment to maintaining a rural sense of a small New England Town. It is the mission of the Townsend Board of Selectmen to provide a wide range of high quality services to the citizens of Townsend while at the same time support a strong economic base for the Town. It is the goal of the Board of Selectmen to provide services as economically as possible so that living or doing business in the community remains affordable, while preserving something close to the current balance of reliance on residential and commercial property.

Volunteer Opportunities

Town government needs citizens who are willing to give time in the service of their community.  The Town of Townsend relies on the dedication and resources provided by volunteers who serve our community in many different ways.
