Things to Know

Municipal Curbside Recycling & Trash Pickup - follow this link for your Trash Pickup day and look at the last column.  Townsend Recycles - follow this link for the Recycling Schedule, If you need a Recycling Bin, you can buy one for $10 at the Recycling Center or at Apple Meadow Hardware store on Railroad Street.

Have a dog?  Get a dog license at the Town Clerk's Office.

Need to register your child in School ?

Town Government

The type of government under the Townsend Charter is Open Town Meeting, with a three-member Board of Selectmen. Town Meetings are held in May and October, usually.  Watch the Announcements for notices.

The Town Clerk's office in Memorial Hall will be glad to assist newcomers and answer questions about the Town in general.
