Cemetery & Parks Meeting

November 18, 2018

The meeting was opened at 12:20PM present were John Barrett, Tubby Boucher, Roger Rapoza and Pam Haman.

Bills were reviewed and approved.  There was some discussion on the about the repurchase of burial lots. The Commissioners wanted to be sure that the lot could be resold and that the department didn’t wind up with single lots to be resold.

Minutes from the November 4, 2018 meeting were reviewed and approved.

Discuss: Snow Removal Policy

Changes from the 11/4/18 meeting were reviewed with additional changes still to be made.  If equipment breaks during the course of winter operations have the mechanic at Highway Dept repair or another option is have the town pay for half the repairs with remaining balance from cemetery funds or budget.  Department in the past has used highway equipment. Wages were paid from snow and ice is that possible again? Roger has Drew starting to plow municipal building/parking lots at 6AM if needed.  Departments may have own equipment they can use.  The Department currently does sidewalks at town buildings including Memorial Hall, not sure why facilities staff is not used. If a vehicle breaks down during snow operations department would borrow one from highway if needed for a funeral. Department should meet with Jim Kreidler Town Administrator to discuss concerns.

Ray move to have Roger, Superintendent and John a Commissioners meet with Jim Kreidler, Town Administrator to discuss winter operations.  Tubby second all were in favor motion carried.

Roger called Jim and a meeting date was set for 11/19/18 at 3PM.

Next meeting is scheduled for 12/10/18 (annual Xmas gathering) at 6:30PM
