Cemetery & Parks Meeting

The meeting was opened at 7:20PM present were, Ray Boyes, Tubby Boucher, John Barrett, Roger Rapoza, and Pam Haman. 

Minutes.

Bills and payroll were reviewed and approved.

Deeds were approved and signed.

Correspondence: none.

Guest: Cheryl from Autumn Sunset Band

Cheryl from Autumn Sunset Band attended the meeting to request the use of the common for concerts during September for this start up band which plays a mix of music.  Cheryl also had a CD for the commissioners to listen to.  The dates are September 23 and 30 from 7:30PM to 9:30PM.  The Commissioners didn’t see a problem with the request the only conflict might be if the sidewalk renovation project was to get under way. The Band could use the poles on the Common to notify of the event.

Discuss:

Roger has been in contact with the procurement officer from Fitchburg and they have set up an Amazon Business Account.  Roger felt that having such an account could potentially save the department money.  The Commissioners liked this idea.  Department will check with Accountant office on how to proceed.

The frost warmer needs to be replaced.  Roger did get three quotes.  Holland Supply was the lowest. The old frost warmer will still be kept should it be needed in case of double burials.

Roger updated the Commissioners on summer work that has been ongoing in both the cemetery and parks.  A large oak tree in Hillside was hit by lighting. 

Superintendents Report:

Lights have been replaced in the bandstand and light at top of flag was fixed as well.

Roger stated that do repairs as soon as they see them or brought to their attention.
