Cemetery & Parks Meeting
May 8, 2019

The meeting was opened at 12:16PM present were John Barrett, Tubby Boucher, Ray Boyes, Roger Ropoza and Pam Haman.

Appointments: none
Bills and deeds were reviewed, approved and signed.
Discuss:
Board Re organization, Tubby moved to have Ray Boyes remain as chairman. All were in favor motion carried.
Cemetery Fees: the last fee increase was in 2009. Roger stated that the cemetery is doing more cremations and that many families are not using a funeral home which puts more responsibility on the department. It was suggested that cremations be increased by $75.00. John moved to approve the recommendation of the price increase for July 1, 2019 made by the Superintendent. All were in favor motion carried. Pam will send the new price list to local funeral homes.
Board of Health letter: The letter was reviewed with changes made.
Memorial Day Preparations: Roger stated that the crew has been mowing, fertilizing and getting the parks and cemeteries in order for Memorial Day despite the rainy spring weather.
Superintendents report:
Would like to have Curtis Stump Grinding do some work in the cemeteries and parks cost is approx. $875.00. John moved to have Roger proceed with the stump grinding work. All were in favor motion carried.
It was mentioned that on Avenue 8 there is a marker being dislodged by a tree. Roger will check out to see if stone can be reset or if it is too close to the tree.
Paving: The area in front of the office/garage needs to be repaved (75ft long by 12ft wide) Roger as gotten two quotes and is waiting for a third. Cost would be around $4,000. John moved to approve up to $4,000 for paving the area using best business practices. All were in favor motion carried.
Mower: Padula Brothers is on the state bid list and will take old mower in trade. Cost would be $6984.00. John moved to approve the purchase of the new mower all were in favor motion carried.
New Hirer; paper work I in progress once completed Justin will start.
